GOAL #1  | IMPROVED ACHIEVEMENT IN READING/LANGUAGE ARTS & MATH

Effective assessment design to enhance student learning

    • Summative - ELD/Language Proficient Assessments, Acadience, STAR Assessments, & State Testing (CAASPP, CAST, ELPAC)
    • Formative - Common Formative Assessments, Short Cycle Assessments, Quick Checks

Instructional classroom expectations and accountability to best serve all students

    • Establish and Maintain an Effective Learning Environment
    • Bell-to-Bell Instruction
    • Student Learning Objective and Language Objective Posted and Taught
    • 21st-Century Learning Skills Practiced: Critical Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, Communication
    • Explicit Direct Instruction Lessons and Research-Based Strategies: Engagement Norms, TAPPLE Lesson Delivery, Checking for Understanding

Universal Access (UA) time focused on providing instruction matched to the needs of students

Effective instructional experiences for ELs throughout the day and across all disciplines

    • Interactive and engaging, meaningful and relevant, and intellectually rich and challenging Designated and Integrated ELD

English learners are provided a rigorous, intellectually rich, relevant, developmentally appropriate standards-based learning experience with instructional scaffolding that supports comprehension, active engagement, participation, and mastery.

GOAL #3  |  ENSURE QUALITY & RELEVANT PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR ALL EMPLOYEES 

Effective professional development that improves teacher practice and student experiences

    • PD aligned with the long-term vision of the school and district
    • PD opportunities for Certificated and Classified staff

Effective Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)

    • Focus on advancing student learning
    • Meet and collaborate on a regular basis - weekly site PLCs
    • Promote a spirit of collaboration, inquiry, and reflection within PLCs
    • Analyze student work and student data
    • Intentionally support PLC meetings
      • Provide school-wide guidance on how to effectively facilitate a PLC
      • Monitor the effectiveness of each PLC

Ensuring a systematic process that guarantees every student receives the additional time and support needed to learn at high levels

    • Continuous identification and development of Essential Standards, Pacing Guides, and Common Formative Assessments

An integrated and comprehensive Multi-Tiered System of Support framework that aligns academic, behavioral, and social-emotional learning in a fully integrated system of support for the benefit of all students

    • Academic - Explicit Academic Instruction (EDI), Universal Access (UA), Response to Intervention (RTI), and Comprehensive Assessment Systems
    • Behavioral - School-Wide Behavior Expectations, Universal Behavior Supports, and Effective Classroom Management 
    • Social Emotional Learning - School-Wide Culture & Climate Foundation, Social-Emotional Learning Teams (Counselors, Behavior Intervention Specialist, Behaviorists, Administration)
