Administrative Welcome Note

Dear Wasco Union Parents, Students, and Staff,

 

Welcome to the 2026-2027 School Year!

 

As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, I am reminded of the words of educator and author Rita Pierson: *"Every child deserves a champion...an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists they become the best they can possibly be".  It is with great excitement and optimism that I welcome you, the community of Wasco, to the 2026-2027 school year.  the beginning of the new year is more than the turning of a calendar, it is the start of countless opportunities to inspire, encourage, and empower every child who walks through our doors  At the heart of our work, is the simple belief...every child deserves to be known, valued, challenged, and supported by caring adults who believe in their potential.  When children know they belong, feel connected, and are surrounded by people who refuse to give up on them, extraordinary things can happen. Together, we have the privilege and responsibility of creating schools where every student is encouraged to dream boldly, persevere through challenges, and discover the very best within themselves.

 

As your new superintendent, I am committed to fostering a culture built on trust, collaboration, transparency, authentic relationships, and open communication.  Our greatest successes will never be the result of one person or one school, but of an entire community working together with a shared purpose.  Whether you are a parent, student, staff member, or community partner, your voice matters, your partnership is valued, and your involvement strengthens our schools.  I encourage you to reach out, ask questions, and share ideas, and celebrate alongside us throughout the year.  My door is always open because I firmly believe that the strongest schools are built through meaningful relationships and a commitment to serving one another.  I am honored to serve the Wasco Union Elementary School District (the community of Wasco) and look forward to an incredible year of growth, and success for every student, every day.
